Pervasive Game Project Pervasive games represent a new trend in organizing of interesting, educational and cultural activities in urban areas. In recent years large cities such as New York, London and Berlin â have organized festivals in which players explore the city through various types and forms of games. These games take place in real space and time, often with the help of technology - players use mobile phones, palm top computers, RFID, etc. to solve problems and progress through the game. Although often conducted in open urban areas, these games can be organized in fact anywhere. They are especially suitable content for congresses, conferences and other events where a large number of participants is present. New Yorkâs Come out and Play Festival, London's Hide and Seek, Bristolâs IgFest as well as other festivals in Europe and in the world have a sizeable audience and represent an innovative content that enriches cityâs cultural life. In Belgrade, this kind of game has not yet been organized. ApsArt NVO - Centre for Theatre Research in Belgrade is the first organization in Serbia which is engaged in this kind of cultural content. On the Hide and Seek Weekender festival, the first game produced by the artists group YenDva3 which operates within ApsArt, comprising Bogdan Spanjevic and Mirko Stojkovic was presented. The game named "Serb.I.Amâ is designed so that players through interesting and funny assignments get familiar with four states we used to live in, without leaving Belgrade in previous years: Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro and Republic of Serbia. Over a hundred players spent Saturday afternoon on the sunny shore of the Thames in getting to know recent Serbian history and enjoying interesting tasks. In order to take a part in the game, players had to have a mobile phone with a Bluetooth so they could receive tasks. The low-tech version of the game was also provided. In order to organize these games ApsArt, along with the company SDD ITG has designed special hardware. This is so-called terminal for pervasive games which, when activated with a special play card or bracelet, sends digital content to a playerâs mobile phone. This way, the player can receive and review audio or video file on his telephone, as well as related instructions that are in it and then continue the game. |
UPS Monitoring DeviceSDD ITG has designed and developed Monitoring device for the UPS.  Device is designed for companies that have wide computer networks and numerous remote locations with installed UPSs and want to monitor their work. Module informs company if power is off on any of key points or if UPS battery drops on 10%.  Device provides information about exceeding energy consumption. If some of the devices uses too much electricity due to a malfunction, company will be alerted about critical event and will be able to react accordingly. Industrial Cabinet Access ControlBy implementation of well known RFID access control principles, we have developed alarm controller for access control for industrial cabinets. Device detects opening of the cabinetâs door, leaving certain period of time for a user/serviceperson to authenticate using his/her RFID card on the RFID reader, integrated into the controller. Controller verifies userâs access rights and based on the result of verification activates the alarm, if necessary, by sending SMS or email message. Controller reports on each of the following events: opening/closing of the cabinet door, successful/unsuccessful authorization attempt, alarm mode started/ended. Device can be accessed remotely, over the userâs IP infrastructure. Safe railway crossingControl device for the crossings of the road and rail ways in same levelSDD ITG has developed a new product â control device for railway crossings. Device can conclude if the part of the rail way under its control is free or occupied, based on the information sent by the axle counter, special device mounted on the rails. When the segment is occupied, road crossing is turning on, meaning barriers are falling down, light signals on the road and rail semaphors are blinking and sound signal is on (bell). When the segment is free again, device is turning off - meaning barriers are being lift up and the audio-visual signals are turned off. Developed system is designed according to the most demanding security and reliability standards. Innovation in the Field of Mobile Phone Content DistributionBecause of the wide use among different consumer groups and advanced technology, mobile phone has become one of the most important and the most used communication medium. On the other side, modern marketing stresses out necessity of personalization of promotional contents and personalization of the product itself.  SDD ITG has developed a prototype of device for distribution of the contents for mobile phones, which exploits both advantages of mobile technology and personalization provided by RFID technology.  Use is simple â by placing an ID card in front of one of the devices installed on public places, a user, who previously bought an ID card, with credit in it, on one of the sales points, will be able to download desired content on his mobile phone. Device is portable and stand-alone. It is equiped with RFID reader which enables personalized communication and charging. Communication with mobile phone is based on the bluetooth technology. Application possibilities are limited only by imagination of the creator: distribution of service information, advertising and personalized promotion, distribution of multimedia content, pervasive games etc. SDD ITG has handed in an application for the patent registration, and we are looking forward to incorporate this interesting innovation into our portfolio. |
